Admissions

Our usual class structure is seven single year group classes, three in Key 1 and four in Key Stage 2, however due to a ‘bulge’ intake in September 2017 we currently have two Year 6 classes. We admit children from the year in which they reach the age of 5. All children are admitted full time in the Autumn Term (September).

Obtaining a Place at Little Waltham Primary School

Little Waltham Primary School operates an Admissions Policy for all pupils who will be starting school in the Reception year. Please read the following documents for further information:

When your child is due to start school, you can apply for a place online using the Essex Online Admissions Service, at essex.gov.uk/topic/admissions. The Education Authority will notify the school of all those who have applied for a place. These applications will then be ranked in line with the school Admissions Policy.

Children Joining from Another School (Mid-Year Transfers)

If your child is currently attending another school (including in the Reception year) and you would like them to transfer to our school, please contact the school office to enquire about the availability of spaces in your child’s year group.

Applications for spaces must be made directly to the school, using the application form below.

Little Waltham Primary School Mid-Year Application Form

Completed forms can be emailed to the school office at admin@littlewaltham.essex.sch.uk.  Please call the school office on 01245 360246 to ensure your form has been received.

Where more applications are received than there are places available, we will use the same admissions criteria outlined in our Admissions Policy.

Appointments to Visit the School

The Headteacher, or in his absence a senior member of staff, will always be happy to show you around the school and answer all your questions. We value this opportunity to meet prospective new families. We look forward to seeing you!

Induction Programme

The Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Ash Class teacher hold an Induction Afternoon at the school towards the end of each Summer Term. All ‘new parents’ for the following academic year are invited to attend. The purpose of the afternoon is to explain various procedures, requirements and expectations. We also talk about the areas of learning covered in the Foundation Stage Curriculum. It is also an opportunity for you to meet a member of the Friends Committee and find out ways in which you could help.
