Author, Yasmin Abdel, visits Little Waltham.

Today we were delighted to welcome author Yasmin Abdel to Little Waltham for an inspiring visit with our Key Stage 2 pupils. Yasmin spoke passionately about her journey as a writer, where her ideas come from, and what motivates her to tell stories that capture children’s imaginations. The children were completely engaged throughout and asked thoughtful, enthusiastic questions about writing, characters and the process of becoming an author.

Yasmin introduced pupils to her new book, Silver Brook, sharing extracts and talking about the themes, characters and the world she has created. Her storytelling brought the book to life and sparked real excitement around reading, with many children eager to get their hands on a copy afterwards. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm for books and storytelling across Key Stage 2.

We are very grateful to Yasmin for giving her time to inspire our pupils, and we hope this experience will encourage many budding writers in our school.
