Year 5 Visit The West End

On Wednesday 11th February, our Year 5 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable visit to the Lyceum Theatre in London’s West End to watch the spectacular production of The Lion King. This was a truly special opportunity for the children, many of whom were experiencing a live West End performance for the very first time.
The pupils were fortunate to be seated in the stalls in excellent seats, giving them a wonderful view of the stage. From the moment the famous opening song, Circle of Life, began, the theatre was filled with colour, music and incredible costumes. The children were completely captivated by the puppetry, choreography and powerful storytelling, and it was clear just how much they were enjoying every moment of the show.
This experience will now act as a key stimulus for writing during the Spring term. Pupils will be drawing on the sights, sounds and emotions of the performance to support their descriptive writing, character work and storytelling, helping to bring their ideas to life in the classroom.
We were extremely proud of the children throughout the trip. Their behaviour and attitudes were fantastic at all times, and they represented the school beautifully in public.
It was a memorable day for everyone involved, and one we are sure the pupils will be talking about for a long time to come.
